Mt. Penn Tool & Machine Co., Inc. was started by W. Thomas McCullough in 1979.   This complimented his other company, Carbides, Inc. that specializes in carbide tooling for the steel industry.  The companies were located in Mt. Penn, PA which is a suburb of Reading. 

One of the first product lines offered by Mt Penn Tool was Armstrong-Blum Mfg. who is the maker of world famous Marvel sawing machines.  The company also sold Marvel blades and offered parts and service.  Mr. McCullough had been the Philadelphia area manager for Armstrong-Blum earlier in his career before setting out on his own.

Later on other well-known quality product lines were added such as Kyocera-Ceratip, and Hangsterfer Laboratories for coolants and lubricants, to name just a few.

In 1987 the company moved to Ivyland, PA and in 2004 to its current location in Southampton.

In the latter part of the 90’s, Mt. Penn Tool purchased Robinson Tool Specialties, a company specializing in tooling for Swiss type automatic screw machines, which continues to operate as a division of Mt. Penn.

In 1999, Mr. McCullough’s son, Thomas A. McCullough, purchased the companies.

The company expanded into the stamping and die component industry in 2004 with the addition of the Ready Technology, Inc., and Tipco Punch lines.

In 2008 Mt. Penn further expanded, bringing on Fein Power Tools, who for over 100 years has developed innovative tools that have set new standards for metal working, the automotive industry, and interior construction.

Over the years we have continually expanded our product offering and have recently added a new 800+ page catalog featuring thousands of products at very competitive prices.

Though we offer practically any items associated with industrial supplies, we are most well known for our expertise in all types of metal sawing, carbide cutting tools, and abrasives.

We’ve seen our share of ups and downs and many changes in trends.  We believe that in order to be successful it is necessary to realize that all customers are important.  Our customer base consists of shops of all sizes from one-man job shops to some of the largest and successful manufacturers and steel mills.  We are proud that these customers put their trust in us a supplier.
